Configuring Netscape Mail and News
If you use Netscape for email and to read newsgroups, you will need to make the following changes to the Netscape settings:
Configuring Netscape Mail
From the menu click on Edit and select Preferences.
Under the Category section you should see Mail & Newsgroups. Double click on Plus (+) sign
that is just to the left of Mail & Newsgroups, this will drop down the options list displaying all the sub-categories for Mail & Newsgroups.
Click on Identities and fill in all applicable fields. At a minimum you will need to enter in Your Name and Email Address.
Under Category click on Mail Servers. Locate the window Incoming Mail Servers. If there is already an account listed in the window, highlight it and click on the Delete button. Now click on Add and type in mail.interwrx.com for the Server Name and select POP3 as the server type. For Username type in the first portion of your email address before the "@" symbol (i.e., if your email address is bob@interwrx.com then you need only type in bob). Place a check for "Remember Password" and then click on the POP tab. If "Leave messages on server" is checked then uncheck it now and then click on the OK button.
While you are still on the Mail Servers category type in mail.interwrx.com for the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server. Be sure to leave "Outgoing Mail Server Username" blank and then click OK.
Configuring Netscape News
From the menu click on Edit and select Preferences.
Under the Category section you should see Mail & Newsgroups. Double click on Plus (+) sign
that is just to the left of Mail & Newsgroups, this will drop down the options list displaying all the sub-categories for Mail & Newsgroups.
Under Category click on Newsgroup Servers. If a newsgroup account has already been added highlight that account and click on the Delete button. Now click on Add and type in news.interwrx.com for the Server. Be sure to leave all other options defaulted to the original settings and click OK and OK again.
Congratulations! You should now be able to send and receive email and access the news groups using Netscape.
